We visited your town (and park) this weekend for the first time and it's only 40 minutes away. What a fun place. The park was fantastic, the town was amazingly beautiful. Seems almost absurd that anyone is even considering putting an asphalt plant out there, one of the few accessible trails we've found for my niece. We'll be back. Unless it gets stinky, loud and gross, of course.

The biggest mistake Dutra made was taking down their old asphalt plant and selling that land for a housing development. If they had been wise, they would have planned better. Thinking that no one would object to an asphalt plant directly scross from a favorite park is absurd. Yes, we need asphalt - but like so many things that are unappealing, there are places where this would work just fine - like where the old plant was. No one objected then. Forethought could have saved Dutra a lot of money and headache.
