This is an important victory in support of the neighbors of the Roblar Road
Quarry, challenging the Board of Supervisors' approval of this miserable
project.
From attorney Matt Molland: "Yes, approval is denied. The Board must
reconsider on four individual issues, including testing of the landfill and
approval ofthe use of Open Space for the mitigation of endangered species.
.. we expect the developer and County to appeal.
We received the final decision from the court today granting our petition to
set aside the County's approval of the Quarry."

I read in the Aquas Courier today that the Los Angeles Times listed Petaluma as one of the cities as a great destination town to visit. Another reason why the judge should not approve the Asphalt plant. It not only affects the wild life in the wetlands area, it would create a deterrent for people to come and visit Petaluma.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up Naomi! Maybe now that the Southern CA press has discovered Petaluma, local businesses like Ghilotti or former elected officials like Mike Kerns, who sided with Dutra will wake up and smell the asphalt - an asphalt factory at the entrance to town is bad for tourism.
